Greg Cook
Owner & Founder
Greg Cook founded G.C. Forest Products in 1980 with a half-ton truck on credit, a used chainsaw and a rented wood splitter. As the company grew, Greg invested in equipment and staff, expanded its line of wood products and earned a reputation for high quality products and personalized service.
Today, GCFP is the region’s largest fuelwood supplier consuming about 7,500 tons of roundwood per year, the majority of which is derived from the Inyo National Forest’s forest health and hazardous fuel reduction activities.
GCFP delivers its products into residential and commercial markets locally and as far away as Lake Tahoe and Lone Pine. GCFP collaborates with Inyo Mono Advocates to support the organization’s heating assistance program and frequently partners with other small forestry businesses for collective benefit.
Greg oversees all aspects of the company’s operations and manages a team of ten full-time employees, along with four seasonal staff members, ensuring safe and efficient workflow.
As a long-time Mammoth Lakes resident and small business owner, Greg and the GCFP team, value the region’s natural resources, beauty and sense of community. GCFP is committed to stewarding the region by reducing wildfire risk, protecting communities and creating family-wage jobs.
Greg is a member of the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce and Associated California Loggers.
